This allowed me to understand my instrument which then allows the foundations to stick. His guidance has really shaped my voice to sound even better than when I started.  FAQs

  • We’re located in Hamilton, NJ.

  • We offer services both in-person & virtually. Select services, such as recording, are in-person only.

  • Our clients range from beginner to professional levels. Singers who work with us are primarily aiming to improve their vocal function so that they can sing more effectively, in whatever style they desire.

  • Yes! You’ve seen our clients in professional theatre (Actors' Equity Association) and in TV/film (SAG-AFTRA). Our clients have also been accepted into top rank colleges/universities such as NYU Tisch, Marymount, Sacred Heart, & more.

  • We provide what’s referred to as ‘functional voice training’ which helps singers to develop greater technique so that they can perform in the medium, style, or genre they deal in.

    Technique involves:

    • Cultivating a strong sound

    • Increasing vocal range

    • Developing greater flexibility

    • Building more vocal stamina & sustainability

  • Lessons are quite flexible, focusing on what the client needs at that time. But typically the first part of a lesson will consist of a warm up/exercises. These exercises will focus on a particular aspect of technique, like breathing, phonation, etc. Then, we apply said technique to songs. And of course we make time to work on the delivery of the song, which lies in the expression, stage presence, etc.

  • There is more to singing than just vocal technique. Many singers would benefit from working on their music skills such as ear training, music theory, music literacy, and keyboard skills. These skills help singers to improve their pitch, rhythm/beat, and overall ability to rehearse music effectively.

  • Modern Singer acknowledges the needs of the 21st century singer, which involves both recording & live performance. Improving one’s singing so that they’re prepared to enter the studio is paramount, so what better than to combine them?!

  • Modern Singer offers a variety of packages, depending on the clients needs and budget. From just getting started, to full blown artist development, Modern Singer has offerings to suit a wide range of prices.
